Christmas trees

We grow our Christmas trees on about eight acres of marginal land, which has proven to be a viable and earth-conscious choice. Bucking industry standards, we don't use herbicides (which stop the growth of weeds, but pollute the soil and water), pesticides, or artificial colors.

Watch this lovely video about our Christmas trees, created by George Washington University students.

Rent or purchase a live tree

Last year we tried something new by offering "live trees". They're cedar, are in pots, and are about 5' to 6' tall. It was such a success, this season we'll have more in stock. You can rent them for $45, and you can return them to us and we'll take care of them at the farm for the following season. Or, you can buy your tree for an addtional $45. To ensure they have the best chance to live when planted outside, we'll provide instructions.

What we growCharlie Brown tree

Charlie Brown trees – These trees are all imperfect and have their own character.

Colorado Blue Spruce – The tallest of our trees. 6½ ft. up to 12 ft. These trees take 22 to 25 years to grow. Natural shape. Great for candles or heavy ornaments. Citrus-like aroma. Sharpish needles.

Michael and treesDouglas fir – A popular tree. Soft needles, nice aroma. 6–10 ft.

Fraser fir – These are what might be called "elegant" trees, and are very pretty. They're a little on the narrow side and average 8-9 ft. They can be trimmed smaller, but we'll be sending them down their true height. (Similar to Canaan Fir.)

White pine – These are the heirloom trees. Soft needles, very pretty. Cannot support heavy ornaments!

Table-top trees – 3–4 ft. Ask us to "top off" these trees from very large trees so the tree can continue to grow.

Wreaths & roping (garland)

Holly & boughs – Holly sprigs and boughs (evergreen branches).

If you are planning to give a tree as a gift to a teacher, a limited-income family, or community worker, you can have them contact us to come and pick one out in your price range. We discount gift trees. If you know of a family who can’t afford a tree, we’ll have a limited number of trees we can donate anonymously.

Please send all order inquiries to esiegel2@igc.org.
