Farm Visit Day 2025
Sunday, June 8!

Licking Creek Bend Farm is a Certified Naturally Grown vegetable, fruit, and Christmas-tree farm tucked away in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains of Pennsylvania. We've been bringing affordable, sustainably grown, and pesticide-free produce to farmer's markets for more than 53 years. Owner and social activist, Michael Tabor, started the farm in 1972 as a diaspora kibbutz. After the city folk retreated back to the city, Michael started farming in earnest and selling at farmer's markets in 1974. With two full-time employees, and as many as four full-time seasonal employees, the farm spans 60 acres, with 30-60% of the fields farmed in rotation each year.
Our philosophy is that a sustainable food system starts with local farmers, who know their customers. We are a worker-run farm, and maintain a 60+ member, community-supported agriculture program (CSA). Due the political climate, we want to help families who have lost their jobs participate in our CSA. Please don't hesitate to contact us to discuss.
Our markets and CSAs accept WIC and Produce Plus holding families.
We sell our produce directly to consumers in underserved communities, to food co-ops, and at farmers' markets. Our largest market runs Saturday mornings in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington, DC.
